# Wedding Site ↔ PDF Sync

The wedding website at `wedding/index.html` has a downloadable guest-info PDF at `wedding/albina-and-cornell-wedding-guide.pdf` (generated from `wedding/guide.html`).

## Rule

Whenever you change **content** in `wedding/index.html` — dates, times, venues, hotels, prices, restaurants, activities, contacts, WhatsApp numbers, or any section text — you must also:

1. Make the same change in `wedding/guide.html` (the print-optimized source of the PDF).
2. Regenerate the PDF:

```bash
"/Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google Chrome" \
  --headless --disable-gpu --no-pdf-header-footer \
  --print-to-pdf="wedding/guide.pdf.tmp" \
  "file:///Users/cornellbasson/Dropbox/Cursor/Basson URL/wedding/guide.html" \
  && mv "wedding/guide.pdf.tmp" "wedding/albina-and-cornell-wedding-guide.pdf"
```

3. Confirm the PDF regenerated (file timestamp updated) before finishing.

## Notes

- Design-only changes (colors, spacing, animations) to `index.html` do NOT require a PDF rebuild unless they affect `guide.html`.
- The PDF must stay elegant and plain, matching the site's navy/ivory/gold Royal Classic style.
- Never let the PDF drift from the website — guests download it as the offline source of truth.

## Add-to-Calendar details must stay in sync too

The site has an "Add to Calendar" feature (Google/Outlook/Yahoo calendar URLs + the `wedding/albina-cornell-wedding.ics` file). Whenever the wedding **date, times, venue, location, or key event details** change, you must update ALL of:

1. The Google Calendar / Outlook / Yahoo template URLs in `index.html` (text, dates, details, location parameters).
2. The `.ics` file (`DTSTART`, `DTEND`, `LOCATION`, `DESCRIPTION`, `SUMMARY`).
3. The countdown timer target in `index.html`.
4. `wedding/guide.html` + regenerate the PDF (per above).

Treat calendar details, countdown, site copy, and PDF as one atomic change — never update one without the others.
